For those of you who don’t know, I work full-time as the webmaster for Jim Koons Automotive. For the past couple months the government has been running the “Cash for Clunkers” program where dealers take old cars with poor gas mileage as a trade-in and customers get money from the government for their trade. As part of the program, the dealer agrees to destroy the clunker. Well, last week I got to see the clunkers get destroyed. Here are a few photos of the vehicles getting smashed! In January, I photographed a family in Alexandria, Virginia for the Spring 2009 edition of SZ Digest. Two of my images were published with the article entitled, “Caregiver Profile: The Extraordinary in the Ordinary.” The article is about a married couple, Gina and John, caring for his mother, Carmencita who has schizophrenia and lives with them in their home. I took several posed photos of the family as well as some photos of the family working together to do everyday tasks like setting the table, brushing hair, hanging clothes, playing with their dog, and even dancing in the kitchen.
